When Will Driving Lessons Re-Start?

The latest government update states 12th April 2021 for the re-starting of driving lessons. Yes, that’s right, one month from now! However, this could be subject to change depending on further updates to Government COVID restrictions.

What About The Driving Test?
Driving Tests are scheduled to restart on the 22nd of April 2021 earliest. This ten-day delay, after lessons start, we assume, is to allow for any students, already booked in for tests to get themselves some professional practice. Remember, some students may not have access to means of private practice and may not have driven a car for at least 6 months!!
What IF My Driving Test Is Scheduled In Before The 22nd of April?
Any tests before this date will be canceled and the candidate should receive an email from the DVSA directly, keep an eye on your inbox, check spam and junk too!! We’re also led to believe that the DVSA will reschedule another test date for you.
What Can I Do In The Meantime Whilst I wait For Driving Lessons To Resume?
Why not practice your theory! Keeping up to date with the rules of the road will no doubt come in handy when test day arrives. Here’s a link to a practice test.
Private Practice
At the moment you are allowed to practice with qualified drivers from your own household or support bubble. It must be essential travel, educational, or traveling to work only.

If the country goes back into lockdown and lessons do not start you will not be charged for any lessons booked in!
