How to Pass your Driving Test First Time
Here at Pass Me Faster we like to get people through their test FASTER. After all its our namesake and with time of the essence lets prepare you for your road to success. With a little help from us you will soon be passing your driving test first time!
The First Time Passers
For many years now our driving instructors at Pass Me Faster have often commented on how they know who is going to pass first time. There’s no denying it – some people are just gifted drivers but its important to realise its not just the Lewis Hamilton’s of this world that pass first time.
Lets have a look at what YOU can do to get yourself prepared.
Getting the Practice In
Firstly you know yourself that success is no accident and the price of success is hard work. I’m afraid that watching your motivational DVDs and piping positive reprogramming podcasts down your lug hole isn’t enough.
A great mental attitude all be it helpful is not going to get you through your test if your still driving like Mr Bean!
The only real way to elevate yourself above test standard is to put the time into your driving. This maybe through continued theory study, extra driving lessons or maybe that white knuckle ride in-between lessons with parents.
Many students try to skimp and scrape on lessons hoping to blag it on test day. Unlike life hacking your straw into a coke can ring pull or winging your eyeliner on route to the big party, the driving test is un-blaggable.
‘Ill just do these next 2 hours then just have a bash at it’ is a sentence heard far too frequently.
This is not a great magic trick to pass first time but it will however make 100 quid disappear.
Skimping on lessons unfortunately will eventually result in costing you more!
Mind Set for How to Pass Your Driving Test First Time
Along with the right amount of practice and work lets also have a look at mindset. First thing to remember is that people usually know the right answer by themselves most of the time. However following it through is a different matter. Why?
Firstly – Doubt. The brain says ‘ooh is this right, what if its wrong, its not going to work’.
Like the great Morpheous trying to explain to the dumbfounded Neo in the training arena of the Nebacaneza
Don’t think your ready, know your ready.
Secondly – pressure. Do you tell all in sundry that your test is near? I have never understood why people do this or why people say all in sundry either!
Thirdly – opportunity for growth. Twist the way you think of it to just another lesson.
One things for sure you’ll be a hell of a better driver after a 40 minute, jaw clenched kangaroo buck around cargo fleet.
You may have completed numerous mock test on lessons but there’s nothing quite like the real thing to put thing into perspective.
Emotions on a Practical Driving Test
”So along it comes test day. You’ve started the day with all the rituals of a Buddhist Monk. Up early and off for a walk, followed by deep breaths surrounded by josticks. Yep despite all best efforts your ****ping your pants.”
Your driving test is always going to be an emotional experience. With this in mind lets see how you handle it. Suck Squeeze Bang Blow funnels the taxi right out in-front of you. Do you choke up in rage or remain completely unruffled.
lets move on forward, deal with things calmly and not worry about the little things til we fluff it for real?
The Jar of life
Everyone wants to pass their practical driving test and especially first time however does everyone really have the time to pass first go?
Commitments, like college, parties, or that part time job make grabbing that first time pass more of a challenge.
You may need to put on those brakes, give that big night a miss and go tell your boss to GO
gear – STICK IT!
Hence the ones who pass first time put priority on their lessons which shines through on test.
Here’s a great little video on managing your life’s goals
So Away You Go
As shown above we don’t have to be gifted drivers to pass first time as a matter of fact we all have a chance. As a result of a little time management coupled with a dollop of hard work, a positive mindset and not blowing ones lid we all have a chance of passing first time.
