A Little Bit About Sam
Sam was a local lad raised in Guisborough. He came to us via a friend of the family and was determined that he was going to pass his driving test first time. He was currently working in London but had just secured his dream job a little closer to home. Working in ”The Big Smoke” for years there was little need to drive and Sam was quite content on public transport.
His new job was in Newcastle and only a short commute from his home town Guisborough. If he could get road legal, his family and friends were only a short 45-minute drive down the A19. With the bit between his teeth, Sam decided it was time to turn that green driving licence pink!
Sam had a short 2-month break between jobs and just enough time on his hands to book a driving test and get stuck into an intensive course.
He picked up the phone and called Pass Me Faster and the rest was history.
How Big Is A Driving School Car
Usually, to book an intensive course we take your details over the phone. A chat would usually be enough to give us an idea of how many hours you would need to pass your test. We can then plan a course around what suits you best.
For Sam, it was a little different. He was the tallest student we had ever had. Measuring in at 6’8 there were concerns that he may get tangled up in a Ford Fiesta. Would he have to find another training vehicle?
We decided an assessment lesson would be best just to make sure the car was suitable. With the seat fully back, the backrest reclined, seat at its lowest height setting, and head restraint up fully, would it be ok?
Hallelujah, Sam fit in snug as a bug in a rug!
Intensive Driving Courses – Sam’s Journey
Sam took to the Ford Fiesta like a duck to water and within no time was easing through the syllabus. We started training in Guisborough, close to where he was staying. Sam mastered his car control skills initially before juggling in his basic junctions too. There was no stopping him now so we switched up training areas to Redcar. With pedestrian crossings mastered it was hill starts and tight junctions in Saltburn. He breezed through, no dramas, and even finished off with an epic hill climb at Saltburn bank. Maneuvers were interspersed around various training areas to keep Sam fresh and nimble on his toes.
With some juicy sections of his driving completed, we decided a trip to Whitby was just what he needed to brush up on his rural road driving. With Sam starting work so soon he didn’t have time for a Pass Plus course. We decided to plan his intensive course around many training areas to make sure he was really at his safest post-test.
With a driving test booked in, that all-important pink licence was firmly set in his sights. It was time to continue the training in Middlesbrough. Polishing up his skills with crossroads, dual carriageways, and motorways.
With his mock tests going smooth Sam’s confidence hit new heights. He was ready!
Passing The Driving Test With An Intensive Driving Course
Sam seemed to show very little nerves at the test centre on the day. With all the preparation and many mock test passes under his belt he deserved to flush with confidence. Sams name was called and off he went to pass his driving test first time.
After passing his test Sam had fallen in love with the Ford Fiesta. So much so that he wanted to buy it. Not a stranger to a good haggle he engaged in the price bartering and we soon agreed on a fair deal.
Sam had his licence, a new car, and was off to his dream job in Newcastle.
Sam review Says ”Great instructor. Nice and patient and would definitely recommend.”
