Holiday Chalets Planned Near Cross Keys Guisborough
Holiday Chalets Planned Near Cross Keys Guisborough. Applications have been submitted to Redcar And Cleveland Council via Total Planning Solutions on behalf of Wykes Lodges. If accepted, a plot just off the A171 near Guisborough, has been earmarked for the project. The developers hope to use land just opposite the Cross Keys Inn for their holiday park venture.
Top Topping Views
The new holiday park, permission granted, would have some pretty picture-postcard views to boast about. Just imagine it, gazing up at the bewitching charm of Rosebury Topping as you take your morning stroll.
The distinct 320m high, half cone-shaped, jaggy cliff of Roseberry Topping is one of Guisborough’s most legendary landmarks. It’s said that Captain Cook developed his taste for adventure exploring its slopes.
Location, Location
The area for development is opposite to the Cross Keys Inn just off the A171.
The A171 is the dual carriageway connecting Guisborough to Nunthorpe and Middlesbrough.
The shape of the site can be seen (pictured) with access to plots snaking around it.
Planning permission is sought for 21 chalets and 50 caravan plots.
And A Bit More Location
The photo shows the exact site, running adjacent to the A171.
The A171 is a fairly busy dual carriageway often used on our Guisborough driving lessons.
The site is a triangular-shaped field approximately 3.85 hectares in size.
There are bus stops on both sides of the road allowing non-drivers to enjoy a vacation too.

Lodge Designs
The general design (if picture is final design) of the lodges are very pleasing to the eye. With a stairway leading up to a decked area and doorway into the lodge. A large driveway to the side makes room for two cars if needed. With large glass windows to the front, it looks like occupants can enjoy breathtaking Cleveland views from inside the cabin.
Benefits To The Local Area
Design and access statements submitted as part of the application said – ”Its close proximity to Saltburn, Guisborough, and Redcar with panoramic views of Roseberry Topping and Cleveland makes the proposed site the perfect location for a new tourist accommodation development as it will be able to attract significant numbers of visitors from the surrounding area and further afield who wish to visit this area and the unique and beautiful attractions which are present within it.”
The site will employ approximately eight workers, bringing additional jobs to the area too.
